How times have changed........

As a kid growing up in the 90’s I was privilged to watch great tv shows like Happy Days,Mork and Mindy,The Wonder Years.These shows had a subtle positive message for children in each episode and more importantly they were”clean”.It's sad that children today are exposed to such crap tv.It doesn’t matter which channel you tune in to.It's all 'reality'.
I still remember the days when I used to rush home from school to watch the Fonz and the gang in “Happy Days”.Makes me feel nostalgic and think about my friends who are now, in different parts of the globe.Those were were the good ol’ days.

The Steps of Immortality

I’m referring to the 72 steps outside the Philadelphia Musuem of Art.These steps were first featured in the 1976 motion picture ”Rocky”.The movie boasts of the famous scene in which the protagonist runs up the steps and does his famous victory dance which culminates with Rocky raising his arms in the air in triumph.It symbolizes overcoming adversity despite all odds.
When Rocky first attempts the run up the steps he is hardly able to run and huffs and puffs and by the time he reaches the top he is walking and not running.Then he starts training and works so hard and improves so much and does the feat successfully the second time around.This scene has inspired millions of people all over the world to travel to Philadelphia to emulate Rocky.When you're up there,you feel invincible,untouchable and yes,immortal even.I grew up idolizing Rocky Balboa.Bill Conti’s theme song”Gonna fly” gets me pumped up every time I am in need of some motivation.He is the true symbol of the strength of the human spirit.
My biggest dream in life is to somehow,someday make it to these steps.It seems a bit out of reach at the moment.But I know it will happen.

Just thought I'd tell you about a song which very few people in India have heard.The name of the song is "Somewhere over the rainbow".This is my all time #1 favourite song.The artist's name was Israel Kamakiwo'ole.It wasn't just his name that people found hard to comprehend but also his apprearance.Israel weighed in at an astonishing 768lbs.But he had a rare talent and a love for the people of Hawaii.

Nicknamed "Iz" and popularly called "The Gentle Giant" Israel has touched the hearts of millions of people the world over, including yours truly.The video of this song is one of the most watched videos ever with more than 10 million views, last time I checked.The song literally pulls at your heartstrings and makes you feel as if you are in a beautiful place devoid of worries.

"Somewhere over the Rainbow" has been featued in many movies including Finding Forrester,Fred Claus and 50 First Dates.The lyrics "..Someday I'll wish upon a star...Wake up with the clouds far behind me ee ee eh...." gets me everytime.

If you haven't heard this song, I strongly urge to dowload it.If you're one of those guys/girls who prefer heavy metal,then this isnt for you.But if you are someone who wants a break from this hectic world we live in,and wanna listen to something that would make reality vanish for five minutes,then this song was tailor made for you.

Not Godfather 2 but still good

Robert de Niro and Al pacino star in John Avnet’s psychological cop drama “Righteous Kill”.Turk(De Niro) and Rooster(Pacino) are two NYPD cops trying to stop a serial killer who leaves a poem at the scene of each crime.The victims are lawbreakers who are freed on legal technicalities.Without a doubt,the film’s best element is the acting.Two of Hollywood’s greatest legends share screen time. Robert and Al are fantastic and have great chemistry together. It is their back and forth playful banter that makes the film worth watching.They turn an average script into an enjoyable crime thriller.

Al’s smooth talking Rooster complements Robert’s unstable Turk perfectly.The cinematography is dark, consistent with the mood of the story and the tone is rather cynical.Rapper 50 Cent plays a drug dealing club owner.

The story is not all that great and the movie is not a classic by any means,but it is entertaining. What it does have is a good amount of comic relief and a fair share of action.

Hey guys,

If you have been finding a lot of time to stretch out, you should definitely do it while you read this book. As for me, It 's been a longtime since I read books. After school, I lost the lil interest I had in reading. But this book, The Kite Runner, has bought everything back. I feel it might do it for anyone. The book is about relationships and the regrets it ll build if we don't treat it as it is supposed to be. And every single way it might haunt you throughout your life.

Its been in the stand for more than a year, but got my hands on it only after the movie got released. Thought should read the book before I see it. I feel good I did that.

Zohan, messed up !

Hey guys,

This time my visit to theater was pretty good, got to see two movies at a stretch. First one was the highly expected 'You don't mess with the Zohan". The movie was a usual Adam Sandler dish, which again proved he's not doing great but bearable. It had comedy scattered all the movie, Sandler's dialect was pretty funny("kaustrealiah") .lol. Other than that some of the raunchy jokes made me snort. The movie was overall average I should say, but you can have some goodtime watching Sandler. You can enjoy it in a group.

And the second was "Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian", the movie I feel was very well pictured than the first one. I havnt read the book, but the movie seems to be as big as the book, you can surely watch this one, but its better if you can get your hands on the first one, to know how it all started.

iPHONE, iKILL

The iphone ver.2 got released at WWDC 2008, it was no surprise, all of em were certain about it. The new features it obtained, well some of them expected some of them made viewers awestruck. The 3G network bringing faster internet, GPS, Motioncontrol (the Megaball game), new Apps and ofcourse slimmer. For older users, you will certainly miss the hardware but can get the software update from now. But what pulled the trigger was the price, 8gb for $199 and 16gb for $299.

Its not a secret that Steve is trying to proliferate the mobile phone market, but this was as good as slapping the competitors faces. I don't think there are no more reasons not to buy the phone. We can soon see people on road searching for Mcdonald's and Dunkin donuts on their handsets. And moreover with release of the phone in India, its going to be a big hit for Apple. Nothin comes free of cost, that too not Apple products, there might be a 10 bucks increase for the data plans as of what i heard, but cant really call it a bad.

I am all set to get one on the 11th of July...
